Biography
Arturo Martínez Zanabria is originally from Mexico City. The artistic quality of this young and guitarist is endorsed by 17 national and international awards in the areas of composition, classical guitar, chamber music, as well as the composition, classical guitar, chamber music, as well as the Mexico City Youth Award, granted by the government of Mexico City for his artistic merits.
Graduate in instrumental music (Guitar) with honors, and intern of the Bachelor's degree in Composition, both at the Faculty of Music of the UNAM.
Winner of the scholarships Fondation Turquois, "Cátedra extraordinaria de composición Arturo Márquez" and PAECI UNAM.
In 2017 he studied guitar at the "Académie de Musique et Théâtre Rainier III" with Luc Vander Borght in the principality of Monaco where he obtained the "Diplôme d'études musicales" with the mention "Très bien", likewise he obtained the mention "Bien" in the specialty of Musical Training.
In 2019, he was supported by the PAECI UNAM program, to attend the "Stage" of the International Music Academy that took place in Dinant, Belgium.
In 2018 he studied composition with the celebrated Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, thanks to the scholarship "Cátedra extraordinaria de composición Arturo Márquez".
His music has been performed in Mexico, the United States, Argentina, South Korea, France and Colombia by outstanding musicians and ensembles: Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco, Orquesta Sinfónica Mexiquense, Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Eduardo Mata, Orquesta Filarmónica del Estado de México, Xavier Jara, Dirén Checa, Ensamble Glissando, Cuarteto Kuikani, Antonio Laguna, among others.
As a soloist he has given concerts in several Mexican states and in France.
In 2020 his first album, "Mexican contemporary music for guitar quartet" was released, an album made up of music by emerging Mexican composers.
